After the loss of a tooth or teeth, the jawbone begins to resorb, or shrink. Occasionally, this can create a situation where there is not enough jawbone to place a dental implant. Dr. Gold will perform a bone graft. A graft is placing new bone into the area of the jaw where there is a defect. Therefore, there will no longer be an inadequate amount of jaw bone, and function and appearance will be restored.
Dr. Gold performs:
Sinus Lift Grafts which are bone grafts placed onto the floor of the sinus cavity in order to allow placement of dental implants in the back portion of the upper jaw.
Ridge Augmentation which are bone grafts placed to increase the height and width of the jaw bone.
Where Is The Bone Graft Derived From?
Our office offers an array of sources of bone graft material. Bone can be taken from another area of the patient's jaw bone. Synthetically created bone grafts are also used.
